CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS
On the Saturday before Christmas, gift baskets of food are delivered to neighborhood families. This is a two-month project, involving family registration, the purchasing of food and the organizing of donated food. The last week is spent in the filling and in the delivering of a bushel basket of food to approximately 1,000 families. Many hands are needed for the final phase.
Annually we have requests for over 1,000 baskets and volunteers deliver them all, plus turkeys within the geographic boundaries of our parish regardless of creed. No family is refused. Providing them is always a massive effort, but thanks be to God, and thanks to you, it always works. It is one of God’s little miracles in Camden.
