Liturgical Ministries
At Sacred Heart

Each Sunday Mass at Sacred Heart involves the preparation and participation of many people. Thanks be to God. It is wonderful to see everyone's efforts come together for the good of all.

The Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy committee is the central committee of the parish. Everyone is invited to attend.

Parish liturgy needs tending as a garden does. Weeds appear quickly and must be removed. Tender plants need nurturing. Trees can get overgrown with vines that will eventually smother them. The Liturgy Committee is the caretaker of the garden. It plants wisely and removes weeds expeditiously. It is made up of the coordinators of the various ministries of the Sunday Eucharist.

The members of the liturgy committee meet monthly to plan future liturgies and to review liturgies of the previous month. It is this on-going care and attention which keeps our liturgy "alive and well". An official coordinator and reviewer is appointed for each liturgy. Notes and check lists are maintained as an aid to the members. The committee tends to the care of our on-going work for Liturgy leading to Justice.

A good liturgy should flow smoothly like a stream and lift us up to God.

On the left is a list of the various ministries which support each Mass. The coordinator of each ministry is expected to attend the monthly Liturgy Committee meetings. Parishioners are also invited to participate.

If you are interested in joining one of the liturgical ministries, check the links on the left and use the information there to seek out one of the ministry coordinators.
