Rite of Christian Initiation For Adults

Ted Fox and Susan Dougherty after Confirmation

RCIA is the process whereby the Church of the Sacred Heart "gives birth" to new members through formation, Baptism (if necessary), Confirmation and Eucharist. The parish worshiping community prays and shares in the Rites of Welcome and Blessing of those being born into the Church.

The RCIA ministry coordinates the program's Scriptural-Catechetical presentations (monthly for the Pre-Catechumenate, September through November; weekly for the Catechumenate, November through April; and every other week for the Post-Catechumenate, April through May); and prepares the Liturgical Rites of Welcome, Blessing, Election and the Sacraments of Initiation.
