Altar Servers
This ministry began using adults for liturgical ministry in June, 1983. Many parishes throughout the country are gradually returning to this custom of the early church. The servers' role is simply to assist the Presider; to do whatever is needed so the Presider is freed as much as possible to do the job of leading the gathered community. They serve the community and the community's leader at worship. Their ministry centers on the Sacramentary and the Table.
